The short version: We collect your contact and service information to run your bookings. We never sell your data. We use industry-standard security. You can request deletion at any time.

Chara Cleaning Services (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a professional cleaning company operating in the Denver, Colorado metro area. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you use our website, mobile experience, or book our cleaning services.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

  • Identity & contact: Full name, email address, phone number, and service address when you request a quote, book a service, or contact us.
  • Payment information: Billing details processed securely through Stripe. We never store your full card number — Stripe tokenizes all card data on their PCI-DSS-compliant servers.
  • Service preferences: Type of cleaning, frequency, size of space, and any special instructions you provide.
  • Job applications: If you apply to work with us, we collect employment-related information including availability, service experience, and background-check consent.
  • Communications: Messages you send us via email, phone, or our in-app messaging system.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data: Pages visited, features used, browser type, and referring URL, collected via standard web server logs and analytics.
  • Device data: IP address, operating system, and browser version.
  • Cookies: We use strictly-necessary session cookies (for authentication) and optional analytics cookies. You can manage cookie preferences in your browser settings.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Schedule, confirm, and manage your cleaning appointments
  • Process payments and send receipts
  • Send appointment reminders, status updates, and service confirmations
  • Respond to your questions and support requests
  • Improve our services and website experience
  • Comply with legal obligations (e.g., tax records, insurance documentation)
  • Send occasional service announcements or promotional offers — you can opt out at any time
  • Review and process employment applications

We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal effects.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only in these limited circumstances:

  • Service providers: We share necessary information with trusted vendors who help us operate — including Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery), and Supabase (secure database hosting). These providers are contractually bound to protect your data and use it only as directed by us.
  • Cleaning team members: Your service address, scheduled date/time, and any relevant cleaning notes are shared with the cleaner assigned to your job.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our customers, staff, or the public.
  • Business transfer: If Chara Cleaning Services is acquired or merged, your information may transfer to the new entity. We will notify you via email before this occurs.

5. Payment Security

All payment transactions are processed through Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment processor. When you save a card for future charges (our Card-on-File option), your card details are stored exclusively in Stripe's secure vault. Chara Cleaning Services only holds a Stripe payment method token — never your actual card number, CVV, or expiration date.

You will never be charged without prior notice. For card-on-file bookings, you will receive a confirmation email clearly stating the charge amount before any payment is processed.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services and comply with legal obligations:

  • Active customer accounts: Retained for the duration of our relationship plus 3 years.
  • Payment & invoice records: Retained for 7 years as required by tax regulations.
  • Job applications: Retained for 1 year from submission, then permanently deleted unless you join our team.
  • Marketing communications: Deleted upon opt-out request.

You may request earlier deletion of your data by contacting us (see Section 9). Note that we may be legally required to retain certain records.

7. Cookies & Tracking

Our website uses the following types of cookies:

  • Essential cookies: Required for login sessions and booking functionality. Cannot be disabled without breaking core features.
  • Analytics cookies: Help us understand how visitors use our site (aggregated, anonymized). You can opt out by adjusting browser settings or using a browser extension like uBlock Origin.

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

8. Security Measures

We take reasonable technical and organizational precautions to protect your information, including:

  • All data transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption
  • Database access restricted to authenticated server-side processes only
  • Passwords hashed using industry-standard algorithms
  • Role-based access controls for staff viewing customer data
  • Regular security reviews and dependency updates

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. If you discover a security vulnerability, please report it immediately to hi@characleaning.com.

9. Your Rights & Choices

You have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Deletion: Request that we delete your personal data (subject to legal retention requirements).
  • Opt-out of marketing: Unsubscribe from promotional emails using the link in any email, or contact us directly.
  • Data portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at hi@characleaning.comwith the subject line “Privacy Request.” We will respond within 30 days.

10. Children's Privacy

Our services are intended for individuals 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

11. Third-Party Links

Our website may contain links to third-party websites (such as Google Maps, social media platforms, or payment processors). This Privacy Policy does not apply to those sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party service you use.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify you by email (if you have an account with us) at least 14 days before the change takes effect.

Continued use of our services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
